Torres Advances $19.5 Million for Inland Empire Priorities in FY2023 Government Funding Bills
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35), through her role on the House Appropriations Committee, has included 15 community projects totaling more than $19.5 million for Inland Empire priorities in the FY2023 government funding bills. The government funding bills must still be passed by the entire House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, and signed by the president, before taking effect.
"These projects address some of our communities' most imminent concerns and needs, from public safety, to improving aging infrastructure, to expanding educational and enrichment opportunities for our youth," said Congresswoman Torres. "My constituents elected me to represent their needs and make sure their tax dollars are spent responsibly. I am proud to fulfill that duty by including these projects in our Appropriations bills for FY2023 and will continue to work with my colleagues to help ensure they pass in the House and Senate."
The full projects and amounts included are as follows:
- Pomona Groundwater Treatment R34, Three Valleys Municipal Water District/City of Pomona: $1,600,000
- Treatment Plant for City-Owned Groundwater Wells 4 & 6, City of Chino: $2,000,000
- La Casita Commnity Center, City of Pomona: $4,000,000
- Courtplace Housing Development, City of Fontana: $4,000,000
- Pacific Electric Trail Improvement Project, City of Fontana: $750,000
- Downtown Upland Main Street Economic Recovery and Revitalization Project, City of Upland: $750,000
- Prado Regional Park Food Court Rehabilitation, San Bernardino County Regional Parks: $2,280,000
- Unincorporated Fontana Safe Routes to School, San Bernardino County: $1,500,000
- Montclair Police Body Worn Cameras, City of Montclair: $800,000
- Active Seniors on the Go, City of Ontario: $439,094
- Mobile Medical and Mental Health Clinic, Health Services Alliance: $300,000
- Pomona Area Fire Stations Emergency Medical Services Improvement, LA County Fire: $201,834
- Afterschool Homework, Technology and Enrichment Program: $532,500
- STEM Symposium Expansion, Ontario-Montclair School District: $272,077
- Pomona Health Career Ladder, Western University of Health Sciences: $100,000

Torres Adelanta $19.5 Millones para las Prioridades de Inland Empire en los Proyectos de Ley de Financiación del Gobierno para el Año Fiscal 2023
WASHINGTON – La Congresista Norma J. Torres (CA-35), a través de su role en el Comité de Asignaciones de la Cámara de Representantes, ha incluido 15 proyectos comunitarios por un total de más de $19.5 millones para las prioridades de Inland Empire en los proyectos de ley de financiación del gobierno para el año fiscal 2023. Los proyectos de ley de financiación del gobierno aún deben ser aprobados por la Cámara de Representantes y el Senado de los Estados Unidos en su totalidad, y firmados por el presidente, antes de ser implementados.
