Made in the 35th Tour Highlights Video
This video is the conclusion conclusion to my “Made in the 35th” tour, which highlighted the important contributions the local manufacturing community is making to the Inland Empire economy. The Made in the 35th tour included 15 site visits and meetings with manufacturers across 6 cities in the 35th Congressional District. While manufacturing has only grown 3.4% nationwide, manufacturing in the Inland Empire is far ahead of national trends with a growth of 13.3% in San Bernardino County. Following my return to Washington from the tour, I proposed and passed legislation to provide an additional $5 million in funding to assist manufacturers navigate new markets. While the Inland Empire has a well-earned reputation for excelling in logistics, I wanted to showcase how our region is a growing hub for manufacturing. This industry is critical to the economic health of our region and the people that they employ because manufacturing jobs tend to be more stable, higher paying, and better quality jobs that lead workers and their families into the middle class. I am proud to advocate for the manufacturing community in Washington DC and will continue to look for legislative opportunities, like my JOBS Act, which will bring funding and resources to the Inland Empire.
