Torres Highlights FY2023 Transportation Priorities in Letter to Secretary Buttigieg
WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Norma J. Torres (CA-35) sent a letter to United States Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg highlighting her FY2023 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development requests and expressing her support for Secretary Buttigieg's efforts to promote equity in transportation decisions. Congresswoman Torres is a member of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, which funds the Department of Transportation.
"Thank you for your work to improve our nation's infrastructure, access to transit options, and expanding economic opportunity," Rep. Torres writes. "As you continue to implement the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, as well as the fiscal year 2022 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill, I wanted to outline issues of importance to my district that I hope to continue working on with you going forward."
"California's Inland Empire is a transportation and logistics hub, yet my constituents still all too often lack access to affordable, reliable transportation options," Rep. Torres continues. "As a member of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee with oversight over these funds, I am pleased by the progress made in the FY 2022 bill and will continue to prioritize these issues in fiscal year 2023.
"I will strongly support your efforts to equitably build up our nation's transportation, which allows constituents to access the jobs, housing, and recreational space they need to thrive," Rep. Torres concludes.
In the letter, Representative Torres also highlights her work in Congress like transportation equity, regional infrastructure accelerators, transit-oriented development, air quality, thriving communities initiative, transit workers, and 9-1-1 dispatchers.

Torres Destaca las Prioridades de Transporte Para el Año Fiscal 2023 en Una Carta al Secretario Buttigieg
WASHINGTON – Hoy, la Congresista Norma J. Torres (CA-35) envió una carta al Secretario del Departamento de Transporte de los Estados Unidos, Pete Buttigieg, destacando sus solicitudes de Transporte, Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano para el año fiscal 2023 y expresando su apoyo a los esfuerzos del Secretario Buttigieg para promover la equidad en las decisiones de transporte. La Congresista Torres es miembro del Subcomité de Asignaciones de Transporte, Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano, que financia al Departamento de Transporte.
