Rep. Torres Thanks Governor Newsom for Calling Special Legislative Session on Gas Prices
Pomona, CA – Today, Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) released the following statement in support of Governor Newsom's announcement of a special legislative session of the California State Legislature to address rising gas prices. On Wednesday, Torres wrote to the Governor asking for him to reconvene the State Legislature to address this urgent issue:
"I thank Governor Newsom for his leadership on this critical issue and for calling a special session of the State Legislature to address rising gas prices," said Congresswoman Torres. "This is an urgent issue that requires an urgent response, and I appreciate the Governor taking this step. Working families in the Inland Empire and around California need answers and relief now."
Torres wrote to the Governor just a few days ago asking for him to convene a special legislative session to investigate the causes of the recent price jump, and to propose legislative solutions. For the full text of the letter, click here.
