Alesandro Chuta, Arthur Lo, Benny Aquino and Nathan Paz – Pomona residents and students in Patrick Trejo's 7th-grade computer class – developed Job Zone, an app allowing users to input employment criteria and then receive information about local entry-level jobs.

"The app Alesandro, Arthur, Benny and Nathan developed not only shows their remarkable talents in cutting edge skills, but by connecting job-seekers to opportunities in our community, it also addresses a need for many young people in the Inland Empire right now," Rep. Torres said. "I congratulate these young leaders for turning the Congressional App Challenge into an opportunity to serve our community. Job Zone is just a glimpse of what they, and their classmates, will achieve as the next generation of leaders for our region, our state and our country."

"Praise the Lord for this blessing! I'm thrilled that Arthur, Nathan, Benny, and Alessandro won the Congressional App Challenge in Congresswoman Torres' district," Lorbeer Middle Scholl computerteacher Patrick Trejo said. "I'm proud of all our students who participated, and I'm glad a Computer Science program like this exists at Lorbeer Middle School in the Pomona Unified School District and Code.org to help students refine skills that will set them apart in the workforce. I would like to thank Arthur's, Nathan's, Benny's, and Alessandro's families. Thank you to Congresswoman Torres for this opportunity to let our students show how incredibly talented they are."
