Congresswoman Torres Secures Inland Empire Wins in FAA Reauthorization Bill
Washington, D.C. – Following the House passage of the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for five years, Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) released this statement:
“This reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration is a win-win for airports and communities like ours across the nation, including CA-35’s Ontario International Airport. This bill improves our airport infrastructure, fights air pollution in heavily polluted communities like the Inland Empire, reduces aircraft noise, and addresses the labor shortage at our airports. While I remain deeply concerned about the bill’s changes to the pilot retirement age, I thank my colleagues for working in a bipartisan matter to advance our nation’s aviation priorities. I particularly want to thank Ranking Member Larsen for prioritizing the needs of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in this critical bill. Now, the Senate must follow the House and act swiftly to reauthorize the FAA and invest in our communities,” said Congresswoman Torres, chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus FAA Reauthorization Task Force and member of the House Appropriations Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Subcommittee.
