Congresswoman Torres Leads Introduction of Resolution to Commemorate Warehouse Worker Recognition Week
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) announced today the introduction of her resolution to recognize August 13th-19th as “Warehouse Worker Recognition Week.” Her resolution, which is supported by over 20 Members of Congress, honors our nation's warehouse workers for the sacrifices they make to serve the American people and keep our economy running.
"Warehouse workers keep our supply chain moving and deserve to have their basic workplace needs met,” said Congresswoman Torres. “My resolution honors the millions of warehouse workers across the United States, including the over 203,000 in the Inland Empire. This resolution is an important step toward securing better working conditions for warehouse workers. They – like all workers – deserve basic rights like access to cold water and bathroom breaks, especially as they work long hours in warehouses in extreme heat. Today and every day, I will fight to ensure our warehouse workers have the fair wages and workplace protections they need and deserve.”
Congresswoman Torres’ resolution is supported by Representatives Jim Costa (CA-21), Pete Aguilar (CA-33), Katie Porter (CA-47), Grace F. Napolitano (CA-31), Tony Cárdenas (CA-29), Mark Takano (CA-39), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), Judy Chu (CA-28), Robert Garcia (CA-42), Adam Schiff (CA-30), Nydia Velázquez (NY-07), Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), Stephen F.
