Congresswoman Norma J. Torres Congratulates Rep. David Price on his Retirement

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement congratulating Congressman David Price (NC-04), Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (T-HUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, on his retirement at the conclusion of this term.

"My friend and colleague Chairman David Price has dedicated more than three decades serving our country in Congress, and we owe him a great debt of gratitude for all he has accomplished," said Rep. Torres. "During his tenure, Congressman Price has championed significant investments in transportation infrastructure, affordable housing, education, and always ensured these priorities received the consideration they deserve. As a Member of the T-HUD Subcommittee, I have been honored to learn from him and to work with him to improve transit options and housing opportunities for working families in the Inland Empire."

"Chairman Price's work has also extended around the globe as he worked to ensure strong and responsive democracies while Chair of the House Democracy Partnership," continued Rep. Torres. "He will be deeply missed by our institution. I wish him the best in his very well-deserved retirement."

Just last month, Rep. Torres welcomed Chairman Price to California's 35th Congressional District to visit Ontario's Astrophysics Inc., Fontana's Malaga Bridge, and Montclair's Transit Center. "It's clear that we need to make meaningful investments in public transit that will support the growth of the region, lower emissions, and increase public safety," Rep. Price said following the visit. "I'm grateful to Congresswoman Torres for showing me around her district and look forward to continuing my work with her in Washington to Build Back Better."
