Torres Introduces Resolution to Commemorate Warehouse Worker Recognition Week
WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Norma J. Torres (CA-35) introduced a resolution to recognize August 14th – August 20th as Warehouse Worker Recognition Week. Creating this recognition will help honor our nation's warehouse workers and their sacrifices to serving the American people, often on the front line of global pandemics and nationwide crisis.
"The Inland Empire is home to thousands of warehouse workers, who have served on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and risk their lives," said Congresswoman Torres. "I'm proud to introduce this resolution to recognize their efforts and sacrifices during Warehouse Worker Recognition Week."
"Our nation's warehouse workers have overcome unprecedented challenges in the workplace, often working under dangerous hot conditions and high demands," continued Rep. Torres. "We must continue to advocate for safer working conditions and fairer wages."
"By investing in our warehouse workers, we address our supply chain issues, strengthen our logistics industry, and support hardworking Americans. This resolution will help us focus on their needs and the critical role they play in our economy," concluded Rep. Torres.
