Statement on 2016 Election
ONTARIO, CA – Today, Rep. Norma J. Torres (D-Pomona) issued the following statement in response to the 2016 general election:
"I am honored and grateful that the people of California's 35th district have elected me to a second term, and I will return to Washington ready to work with my Republican and Democratic colleagues and the new administration to continue fighting for the needs of my community. While the national election results were not what I hoped, the American people have spoken, and we must move forward. I am committed to doing everything in my power to ensure that in the next four years, we create jobs and grow the middle class, promote gender equality and social justice, and protect the rights and liberties of all Americans regardless of race, religion, or background. My constituents and this country deserve nothing less."
