Rep. Torres Calls on Coronavirus Taskforce to Ensure Tests for Inland Empire

July 9, 2020

POMONA – Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) is urging the Federal Coronavirus Taskforce to ensure coronavirus tests are available for anyone who needs one. The request comes after Inland Empire residents contacted Rep. Torres to raise alarms about their coronavirus test appointments being cancelled due to a state-wide test shortage. As positive cases and hospitalizations continue to rise at an alarming rate, Rep. Torres released the following statement:

"President Trump has said time and again that anyone who wants a test can have one," Rep. Torres said. "People in my Congressional District are being turned away, so I'm asking him to live up to his word because our lives are at stake. We need the Federal Coronavirus Taskforce to ensure test kits are distributed where they are needed most, and we need to know what HHS is doing to address test shortages before the situation gets worse."
