Congresswoman Torres Statement on the Loss of Historic Jay Littleton BallPark to Massive Fire
Ontario, CA. –– Today, Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) released a statement on the loss of the historical Ontario baseball field Jay Littleton Ballpark to massive fire.
“Since the 1930s, families across the Inland Empire have made countless, cherished memories of family picnics, gatherings and playing baseball at the historic Littleton Ballpark on N. Grove Ave. in Ontario. Today, despite the loss of this landmark and to a massive fire, the spirit of community and the cherished memories remain strong," said Congresswoman Norm Torres. “The stadium's legacy lives on in the hearts of its patrons and through the movies it has been featured in, such as 'A League of Their Own' and many other Hollywood classics. I know this is a deep loss for our children and the families across Ontario and the Inland Empire who have enjoyed the park for generations, but I look forward to working with civic and community leaders to rebuild a safe new ballpark for future generations to come.”
